Deployments / Engineering / San Francisco, CA (in-person) / Full-time
We are backed by Y Combinator, SOC 2 compliant, and already trusted by compliance and operations teams at leading financial services companies.
About the Role
You are the person who walks into a customer's operation, figures out how a messy real-world process actually works, and rebuilds it on Rapidfolio. Some of that is engineering. Most of it is problem-solving, judgment, persistence, and knowing which questions to ask. We weigh all of those equally.
If your favorite part of the job is the clean codebase and you would rather not talk to a customer, this is not your role. If you like owning a hard problem all the way to a real business outcome, keep reading.
Responsibilities
- Embed with a customer's compliance, operations, risk, and fraud teams to map how a process really runs: the edge cases, exceptions, and tribal knowledge that never made it into the SOP.
- Translate that work into Rapidfolio workflows, and stand behind the accuracy, reliability, and audit quality of what you ship.
- Take a deployment from first conversation to full production: pilot, iterate, earn trust, and expand.
- Work across the customer's organization, from the analyst running the queue to the compliance officer signing off to the executive funding the project.
- Handle workflows that matter in financial services, including KYC/KYB, sanctions and watchlist screening, underwriting, disputes and chargebacks, reconciliation, and account reviews.
- Notice what is repeatable across deployments and feed those patterns back so the platform gets stronger.
- Stay in the account after go-live, find the next process worth automating, and grow it.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of building and shipping real software in production.
- Time spent in financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.
- Enough engineering depth to design something robust, plus the instinct to keep it simple.
- Comfort with ambiguity. You can walk into an undocumented process and leave with a plan.
- Genuine interest in the people side: discovery calls, stakeholder trust, and reading a room.
- An ownership reflex. When a deployment is stuck, you are the one who unsticks it.
- Clear communication with engineers and non-technical operators.
Things That Help
These are useful, but not required.
- Hands-on familiarity with compliance or back-office work: AML, KYC/KYB, OFAC/sanctions, underwriting, fraud, or reconciliation.
- Experience in a customer-facing role such as sales engineering, solutions, product, or consulting.
- You have founded something, or operated like a founder.
